The Charleston on the
American Mahjong Society card,
collect a number, not a hand
I Charlestoned my way into a 35 point hand on this card and still lost by one tile. Here's what I'd do again. One page, five things I think about while I'm passing.
What's inside
- 1The like-number float. Eight hands let any number play the lead, and they sit in four different sections.
- 2Collect before you commit. Pairs of one number in different suits keep the most doors open.
- 3Dragons and winds are flexibility here. Wanted by 49% and 39% of this card, against 25% and 22% on the National Mah Jongg League card.
- 4The same line at two prices. A Little Odd #2 and #6 print the same fourteen tiles, four lines apart, and they do not pay the same.
