Lara of Lara's Mahjong Edit reading the discards at a mahjong table

Free Discard Read cheat sheet

The table is telling you
what to play

Every tile thrown is information, a player telling you out loud what they have decided they do not need. Reading it is not a gift some players are born with, it is a habit you build one discard at a time. This free one-pager lays out the signals to watch, so you can stop guessing and start listening to the table.

What you'll get

  • 1The seven reads to watch for. You're not behind, watch what comes out, early flowers, which numbers they dump, what they stop throwing, what an exposure tells you, and how to let the read come to you, each one in plain language.
  • 2The gut-check before you discard. One quick question to ask before any tile leaves your rack, so you stop feeding the table by accident.
  • 3A one-game practice drill. Track a single player from deal to end and watch how much one pile tells you. Then add a second player next time.
